HSC is a uterotonic, that is more stable in warm and humid climates than its alternative oxytocin and is therefore better able to prevent post-partum haemorrhage (PPH) caused by post-partum uterine atony. Read the release article in&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.idafoundation.org\/en\/blog\/post\/reducing-maternal-mortality-in-lmics\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">this news item<\/a>&nbsp;(en anglais).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At IDA we have defined\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/idafoundation.org\/fr\/reproductive-and-maternal-health\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">RMNCH<\/a>\u00a0as an underserved market, and by adding products to our portfolio that help reduce maternal mortality we are contributing to achieving Universal Health Coverage, one of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/idafoundation.org\/fr\/our-goals\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">our long-term goals<\/a>, and to SDG target 3.1 (to reduce the global maternal mortality rate to under 70 maternal deaths per 100,000 live births by 2030).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We are happy to share the news that now WHO prequalified HSC (100 \u03bcg\/mL solution for injection) earlier this month. This recognition is the first step in achieving registration in countries that exclusively rely on WHO\u2019s prequalified products and compounds to facilitate a faster national approval and thus accelerate access to this life-saving commodity for the prevention of uterine haemorrhage due to post-partum uterine atony.
