NCDconnect

As healthcare systems evolve and the global burden of infectious diseases shifts, a new challenge demands attention: the growing prevalence of noncommunicable diseases (NCDs). Conditions such as diabetes, cancer, cardiovascular diseases, and chronic respiratory diseases now account for over 70% of global deaths, with the majority occurring in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs).

To address this growing crisis, IDA Foundation created NCDconnect—a dedicated initiative focused on tackling the unique challenges of NCDs in underserved regions.

What is NCDconnect?
NCDconnect is an extension of IDA Foundation’s mission, designed to serve the specific needs of NCD healthcare systems while leveraging the strengths and experience of IDA. This dedicated approach enables us to focus on addressing the affordability, quality, and accessibility issues inherent to NCD care, ensuring these efforts align with our broader mission.

NCDconnect provides two key solutions to help healthcare providers and suppliers improve access to NCD medicines and medical devices:

  1. A digital procurement platform tailored for buyers such as governments, NGOs, and healthcare providers. This platform streamlines the purchasing process, offers access to a curated catalogue of high-quality products, and ensures consistent supplies.
  2. An NCD Market Pathway for suppliers, enabling manufacturers to bring their products into underserved markets. By leveraging IDA’s procurement expertise and market access capabilities, NCDconnect bridges the gap between supply and demand, creating sustainable pathways for suppliers while prioritising patient needs.

Together, these solutions facilitate efficient procurement and market access, reducing barriers for buyers and suppliers alike.
